Hill Tribe Markets 4 days Combine Bac Ha Markets with the more remote Can Cau for an authentic hill tribe market experience and Sapa trekking. On Saturday, drive to Can Cau Markets, 9km north from the Chinese border. This is a central meeting point for the more isolated hill tribe communities such as the Mong and Red Dao and even a number of Chinese traders who congregate to sell mountain plants and live stock. In the afternoon, drive to Bac Ha for a walk to a traditional Flower H'mong village and overnight in a hotel. Up early Sunday morning to visit bustling Bac Ha Markets the largest in the province. Here you can buy hand-made woolen scarves, embroidered shirts, skirts, bed spreads, table cloths, bags and jeweler unique to Northern Vietnam. In the afternoon, take a short walk to a Hmong Kinh house and transfer to Sapa for overnight. You will have great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful of scenery, rice field on terrace on the trekking way to Tavan village.

Day 1 : Hanoi –Night train to Lao Cai
Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train at 21:30 pm to Lao Cao (AC and carriage of 4 soft berths. Overnight onboard.
Day 2 : Arrival Lao Cai– Can Cau market (B,L) Saturday
Arrive in Lao Cai station around 6 Am, pick up and breakfast and transfer to Can Cau market. It takes more than 2 hours to get to Can Cau - a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and only 7 km from China. The market deeply shows the typical cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. Further more, you can enjoy seeing boys and girls in colorful costumes - different colors of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding "the other halves of their life" and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market. Lunch and departure for Bac Ha. On the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower Hmong and then check in hotel in Bac Ha. Overnight in Bac Ha
Day 3 : Bac Ha market – Sapa (B,L) (Sunday)
Morning breakfast and the beginning of the day on which you visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colorful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy Bac Ha people's simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the minorities through the guide's interpretation. Leave the market for the Hmong King's house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch. In the afternoon, spend time visiting another village (Ban Pho village). Leave Bac Ha for to Sapa. On the way back, drop in to see the the border between Vietnam and China in Lao Cai. Reach Sapa late in the afternoon. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 4 : Sapa - Night train to Hanoi (B,L)
Morning after breakfast, we then embark on a lovely walk that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hill tribe villages of Lao Chai and Tavan, home to H'mong, and Dzay people. This is a spectacular walking through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people that you can meet along the way. Stopping for a picnic lunch on the way to the family in Ta Van village. Get up to the road for a jeep back to Sapa. Then transfer to Lao Cai Station for the night train to Hanoi. Overnight onboard ( next day, arrival in Hanoi round 4:30 AM. The end of service.)
